Customer information RE; Covid-19 updates and re-opening
The sports centre staff are excited to be able to welcome back our much missed customers from Saturday 1st August. This document will inform you of all the safety measures and guidelines that have been put in place to ensure we are safe to open. These measures have been suggested by various sport’s National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and health executive’s and are current at the time of writing. When the Government or the various NGBs amend their advice, we will seek to follow their changing guidelines. We ask that all customers follow these guidelines so we can continue to protect our staff, our customers, and our NHS.
* Whilst using the sports centre please try to maintain a social distance of 2M at all times. Where this is not possible, please try to maintain a distance of 1+M. *
Sports Hall
The sports hall is available for hire for the following activities:
Badminton/Pickleball/Short Tennis – Courts must be booked in advance and shuttles/balls must be wiped clean with anti-bacterial wipes (provided) at 15 minute intervals. Doubles partners must be from the same household as social distancing cannot be maintained in play.
Fitness Suite (Gym)
There will be a one-way system in place which must be followed at all times. There will be bookable gym sessions available for booking in advance. These sessions will commence every hour, on the hour, and last 50 minutes. These sessions are available from 4pm during the school holidays.
This allows a change-over period whereby the gym can be cleaned. Sessions can be booked up to 7 days in advance via telephone. In order to get the most out of your session please consider the following:
* Please arrive for your session on time. If you are early you will be asked to wait outside the building until the hour begins.
* Please wash your hands before and after using the gym.
* Please ensure you are fully warmed up before beginning your workout.
* Please bring a water bottle and towel with you. The water fountain may only be used to fill up bottles at this time.
* You must have had a valid induction to use our fitness gym, no new inductions will be booked in until after October (to be reviewed).
* Please wipe down all equipment with disinfecting wipes (provided) before and after use.
If you are unable to make your booked session, please let us know as soon as possible. Any sessions not cancelled within 2 hours will be liable to be paid at the next session.
Dance Studio
The dance studio will be hosting various mat based exercise classes (yoga/pilates) These must be booked in advance. Please bring your own towel, water bottle and mat where possible. Any equipment provided by the sports centre must be wiped down with disinfectant wipes (provided) after use.
Zumba classes and Circuit Training classes are to be confirmed.
3G Pitch
The 3G pitch is available for hire as half pitch or whole pitch for football or rugby clubs. Coaches must maintain a 1:5 ratio with players, and a maximum of 30 people will be allowed on the pitch at any one time.
Hire must be booked in advance, and a list of all player and coaches in attendance including names and valid emails or phone numbers must be provided at reception on arrival to comply with Gov’t Track & Trace requirements.
The car park will be open for use after 5 o clock. Spectators are encouraged not to bring any siblings if possible and maintain a 2M distance if watching from the path.
No contact matches will be allowed.
Casual hire is also available for training, however no contact will be allowed and social distancing is encouraged. Hire must be booked in advance.
Hard Courts
The hard courts may be hired in advance for the following:
Tennis – We have 3 outdoor courts available.
Basketball – a maximum of 6 players may be allowed at once, with no contact.
Netball
All hire must be booked in advance, and all players are required to provide details for Track and Trace. Socially distancing must be maintained at all times where possible.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
These current measures will be constantly reviewed until we can find out what works best. Please help us during this difficult time by being patient and letting us know what you think.
Anyone entering the building showing signs of COVID-19 (temperature, cough and difficulty breathing) will be sent home with immediate effect.
All customers will be required to provide basic details at reception to comply with Gov’t Track & Trace requirements.
The centre is currently accepting CASH ONLY.
The changing rooms (including showers) will be CLOSED, however toilets will be in use. We ask there be a maximum of 1 person in the changing rooms at each time.
The school gym, climbing wall and school changing rooms will remain closed until further notice.
Plastic screens have been erected at reception desks.
We will continue with the enhanced cleaning regime that was in place in the run up to lockdown, focusing on high touch point areas.
All reception areas are clear of any unnecessary paraphernalia.
